WORSHIPFUL MASTER'S MESSAGE
Dear Brothers,
Some of Audubbon-Parkside Lodge Brothers and our families visited The George Washington Masonic Memorial in Alexandria Virginia last month. It was an enjoyable trip. Our Brothers from Princeton Lodge were great traveling companions. If you did not know, the memorial was built with donations and resources from Masons throughout the United States. It is supported and maintained by Grand Lodges in America including our own in New Jersey. It is a beautiful building and fine show place of Freemasonry to the world. Seeing the tower as you approach from a distance is spectacular. Not only does it house a very exquisite collection, it is an active building with regular meetings. It is a very fitting and lively tribute to a great Freemason.
The coming together of Masons for this common cause reminded me of how a Lodge is made of many Brothers, family and friends. Many hands build and support an active Temple. Many hands are at work in our Lodge. Contributions great and small are what keep us moving forward.
Just as King Solomon & Operative Grand Master Hiram Abiff used many different workmen to complete the Temple, we need the same at Audubon-Parkside. It is grand thing indeed to see men of all walks of life gather together in our Lodge. Just by a Brother’s regular attendance, he supports the foundations of Freemasonry. If you would like to support your Lodge further, we have 90th anniversary pins still available for $5 each.
On the tour of the memorial I saw a painting that had Our Grand Lodge Motto in New Jersey is “Holiness to the Lord”. We can achieve this by continuing to make good men better and spreading charity. We make good men better by continuing to raise Master Masons. We have a great opportunity right now to spread charity with our cancer run. Please see the Senior Warden’s message for more information and if interested in donating, please contact the Senior Warden or look on our website. Our regular June communication is moved to the 11th to allow us to participate.
Please remember we will again be marching in the July 4th Audubon parade. Even if you can’t make the full march route, we will need help in keeping the lodge open for guests.
I wish you all and your families a great summer. See you on June 11th.
